Key Areas of focus

LUSUDI‟s work focuses on the following key areas: Community Health (hygiene and sanitation improvement), Rural Agriculture Development, Water and Sanitation, Good governance & social accountability, Environmental and natural resource. LUSUDI implements integrated community development interventions in the above core areas
(with both direct and practical support) so as to promote holistic development.

All Reviews

The main objective of LUSUDI’s work in water and sanitation is to improve access to both clean and safer water as well as clean and decent sanitary facilities for rural communities and public institutions especially schools and health centres. To achieve this objective LUSUDI implements the following actions: 1. Constructs Shallow Wells, Bore Holes and Protected Springs. Hence reduction of waterborne diseases. 2. Mobilization of communities to participate in home improvement campaigns. 3. Supports schools to construct water and sanitary facilities 4. Promotes hand washing by hand-washing facilities.

The main goal in this sector is to expand outreach of agricultural development services to the rural small-scale farmers so that they may have improved food security and incomes for better livelihood through promotion and support of sustainable farming methods. LUSUDI supports small-scale farmers with training and production enhancing technologies, creating access to markets and capacity building support for farmer institutions

The main objective of LUSUDI is improving accountability of leaders to citizens to ensure that there is transparency and accountability of public funds. To achieve this objective LUSUDI implements the following actions: 1. Budget advocacy 2. Budget conferences 3. Conducting community interface budget meetings

1. Promoting Inclusive Public Finance Management Program in Rubanda districts in counties of Rubanda East and Rubanda West funded by CSBAG. 2. Strengthening youth led transparency and accountability initiative under the Rock point 256 program in Kabale district funded by DGF coordinated by CDFU. 3. Community Health Outreaches program in Ndorwa West funded by Brave Heart Foundation USA. 4. Youth empowerment program in Kabale district funded by Challenge Future International. 5. Maternal child health nutrition program at Kabale referral hospital and Bwama Primary schools funded by AICO-Italy. 6. Environmental and Natural Resource Conservation and sustainability program around the shores of Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale District funded by Trees for the Future International. 7. Youth empowerment through social entrepreneurship coordinated by MLANDINFO International, Macedonia and funded by European Union.
